Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.) said Friday that he does not believe humans are responsible for climate change, according to The Purdue Exponent.

"I think it's arrogant that we think as people that we can somehow change the climate of the whole earth when science is telling us that there's a cycle to all this," Rokita said in an interview with the college paper after a town hall meeting in Lebanon, Ind. "And that cycle was occurring before the industrial revolution and I suspect will occur way into the future."

When asked by a constituent about government subsidies for renewable energy sources like wind and solar, Rokita said that he respects "God's green earth," but that the private market should decide which energy sources receive funding.

This is not the first time Rokita stated his disbelief in global warming. According to ThinkProgress, Rokita has said that climate change "is a topic currently under debate."

Rokita is also one of the "Climate Deniers" targeted by Organizing for Action, the nonprofit advocacy arm formed to push President Barack Obama's policy agenda. OFA recently gave "Climate Denier Awards" to 135 members of Congress who do not believe in global warming.
