HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and President of the 18th Conference of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP18) Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah yesterday chaired a session entitled "The way to Qatar Climate Change Conference COP 18", enlisted as part of events of the ministerial meeting on climate change which concluded in Bonn yesterday.

Al-Attiyah, in his capacity as president of COP18, thanked South Africa "for granting us this important opportunity". He said this "allows me to focus as incoming president of the 18th Conference of the Parties (COP18) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 8th Parties to the Kyoto Protocol, on the task ahead and to gain some early insight into the views of the different parties".
