The government is disappointed at the role of powerful nations in fighting global warming.

Although the developed countries and international donor agencies made a lot of promises to help the vulnerable nations, no concrete step has so far been taken to face the crisis, food and disaster management minister has said.
Abdur Razzaq was speaking at a workshop on climate issue on Thursday at the Centre for Integrated Rural Development for Asia and Pacific (CIRDAP) auditorium.
Bangladesh was identified as one of the most vulnerable nations facing climate change, he said. "So the rich nations must come forward with concrete programmes to combat the effects of global warming."
Razzaq also urged for regional cooperation to fight global warming.
The minister said that with increasing sea level, water salinity in the coastal belt would also rise. Apart from agricultural land being affected, people would also face a number of crises.
The workshop was organised by Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme (CDMP) and Disaster Management Bureau.
